AI is quickly becoming part of the insurance workflow, from servicing and marketing to data analysis, vendor platforms and agency operations. For agency leaders, the challenge isn't simply understanding AI. It's knowing where it makes sense, which solutions to trust, how to implement them, and how to manage the risks.
The CPIA Program and the Certified AI Insurance Credential (CAIC) have proudly partnered to give CPIA designees access to practical, insurance-specific AI education designed for the people making those decisions.
Completion of the CAIC will satisfy the annual CPIA designation update requirement.
CAIC is designed for professionals who need to move beyond AI basics and make informed decisions about how AI is used within an insurance organization.
The program is particularly relevant for:
Agency principals and owners
Operations and agency management leaders
Technology and digital transformation leaders
Producers or team leaders involved in AI initiatives
Insurance professionals evaluating AI vendors or advising organizations on AI adoption
Through nine self-paced modules, you'll learn how to:
Identify insurance workflows where AI can create meaningful value
Evaluate AI vendors and technology solutions
Decide when to build, buy or integrate AI capabilities
Understand how AI may change agency workflows and operating models
Establish practical AI governance and readiness
Address AI safety, security and E&O considerations
Develop a practical roadmap for AI adoption within an agency
The curriculum is built around P&C insurance workflows and real-world agency scenarios, not generic technology theory.
CAIC goes beyond quizzes and a certificate.
As your capstone, you'll develop an Agency AI Transformation Plan that includes an assessment of your current environment, prioritized workflows, potential vendors, a 30-day pilot approach and governance recommendations.
The goal: leave the program with something you can apply inside your organization.
AI changes too quickly for a point-in-time course to remain useful for long. CAIC's curriculum is regularly refreshed to reflect changes in AI capabilities, vendors, regulation and insurance practice.
CAIC was created by Jay Greene, a licensed New York P&C broker and PIA's 2025 New York Young Insurance Professional of the Year, bringing an insurance practitioner's perspective to the curriculum.
The CPIA Program and CAIC are partnering to make this training available to CPIA designees at a 10% discount.
